I going to replace my speedometer cable because I'm not getting any reading from the dash or the scanmaster. I was hearing a clicking noise coming from the connection at the firewall. I disconnected the cable from the trans and at the fire wall and rotated it and can see it spin. The one that goes to the speedometer I can not spin by hand. I can spin it when it is hooked up to a drill, and the speedometer does work. Does that part of the cable have some resistance or did the grease dry up.

Ditto. Grease it liberally. Disconnect the connector under the wiper motor, pull the dash cluster out, remove the cable, and pull the core out of the sheath. It comes right out. Grease it good, and reinstall it. Then try to do the same to the one going from the wiper motor area to the tranny. Use synthetic grease if you can help it. Should last alot longer before it needs to be greased again.
