I just had a set of upper spherical bushings given to me from a friend who had wrecked his car and stripped several parts from it and they have been laying around his shop collecting dust. I cleaned and inspected and they are in really good shape. My question is.... what, if any diameter differance is there between the mustang housing bushing versus the GN?

The mic'd diameter is.... 1.804"
What is the tail housing diameter of the 8.5" rear?

Thanks a ton.

I have a G-body bushing out of the car at home, I'll check it for you when I get there.

Sorry for the delay...

The G-body rear bushings (at least the one in my hand right now) are 1.75" in diameter.

Is this the mic'd diameter?

Yup. How else would I measure it?
Thanks.
You could have use a tape measure, ruler, etc and I would like to know it within .005. Since you only listed it to 2 decimal places I wondered exactly how you measured it and if you didn't use a mic or caliper the 1.75 could look like the 1.804 dia as listed for the Ford rear. The mic'd diameter may come in handy for me in designing UCA Kits for the GN rears since I need to know it within .005. I already have the Ford 8.8 and the GM 12 bolt numbers.

Well, if you want to super-double-check, the bushings are only $11 each at Autozone, and all four in the rear are the same bushing, so you'd only need one for your measurements.
