I just purchased a Precision PT70. I am having problems spooling at the line. Rolling the car is a BEAST, but looking for input. Thinking of going NOS up to 5lbs. then methanol.
 
We need alot more info on your combo to better help find a solution.

Things like:

- What torque converter are you running and what stall does it have?
- Motor combo/size? 231 CI, or 274 CI
- What A/R turbine housing does your PT70 have?
- Does your PT70 have a P-trim turbine wheel, GTQ turbine wheel, or HPQ turbine wheel?
- Is your PT70 a journal bearing version or a dual ball bearing version?



Typically, a journal bearing PT70 GTQ turbo, with a .85 A/R turbine housing, if put on a stock bottom end 231 CI motor with heads cam, would need a converter that can flash stall to at least 4200 to give it decent spool up. Now, when the CI goes up, this stall speed requirement goes down slightly.
(Ex: A built 274 Stage II typically only needs a 3600-3800 flash stall converter to spool the same turbo.)

My old combo was a 276 Stage II with GN-1 heads, baby cam and a journal bearing PT74 GTQ with a .85 A/R PTE turbine housing. TH400 trans with a 9" Art Carr 4000. It spooled up so fast it was insane. It really only needed a 3600 to be honest.
