i just installed a smc alky kit and noticed the spray on light comes on when i hit the test button but does not come on under boost. i have it set at about ten pounds. it was working and then it stopped. any ideas thanks:D

I'm getting the same problem. Gonna make sure all my connections are good. If that doesn't work, need to contact Steve.

can you tell if the pump is spraying when the light is not on and your under boost.

My kit makes a high pitched beep when it is spraying. Although it is faint, I can still pick up on it. Although my light does work... :)

When I press the test button, the car bogs, so I know it is spraying. Also, I am able to run 19-20 psi boost with no knock with the light not coming on. I can't run that much boost without alky so I'm pretty sure it is spraying under boost, just no light.

A little back to the top...
I just installed (well, ALMOST installed, stupid velcro!) my SMC kit and I am getting the same problem. When I turn the car on, the green "ARMED" light is glowing. When I push the test button at idle, the car begins to bog. I had my girlfriend push it while I read the outlet alky pressure gauge. 40 psi with pump at half-speed, 60-psi when it's cranked. So I know it's spraying all fine and good. It's just that darn light isn't coming on.
Anybody have suggestions? I thought it may be a bad ground on the inside of the car, but when I disconnected that the "ARMED" light didn't come on, so I know the original ground was good. I wanna get this light to work so I know where my turnon point is. I also would hate to run the tank dry because I didn't get the 'low alky' warning light.
THANKS A LOT!!! I'm pumped to try out the system. I will bother Steve (again) as well!

your not getting the test light either. on mine im getting the test light. my alky wont come on under boost. i talked to steve. and he told me a couple things to check. first thing to check is the pressure switch on the bottle. jump the two wires together and see if your spray on light comes on . if it does he said wiring is good. also, on the bottom of the presure switch there is a set screw . he told me to try turning it counter clock wise a little bit. that will lower the pressure switch setting a little bit. i havent had time to try it yet but i hope that helps.:D

turbot2112, thanks a lot. Sounds like we're having slightly different problems, I think I'm seeing more like what darb is (or hopefully was). But I'm definitely worried about the wiring, so I'll try jumping the pressure gauge and see if that sets off the "SPRAY" light.
You said your kit isn't coming on under boost, but will spray (and get the "SPRAY" light) when you hit the test button? I'm sorry I can't help you much there. I didn't know that the turn-on point pressure setting had multiple turns to it, could your turn on point just be cranked really high? Anyway, good luck! Steve is very helpful, I'm sure he'll show us the way :D

Nope, I jumped the gauge wires and still didn't get the "SPRAY" light. I unscrewed that allen bolt under the gauge until the spring fell out, then tightened it a turn or two. So I know it was as loose as could be. No light, even when the pump was on full blast (60psi) I'm sure I could run the kit no prob, but I want that light before I crank the boost up over 18 psi or so. Any suggestions? I emailed Steve, I'm sure something will work out. I'm way anxious to try this thing out!

when i press the test button on my kit the spray on light does NOT come on...just the green armed light stays lit...is that normal???

no, the spray on light should come on when you hit the test button. does the motor stumble.

Have you guys figured this thing out yet? I'm having an opposite problem. When I turn my system on the green spray on light comes on and flickers. All lights go out when I turn the system off. I played with the test button a little and it seems to be the problem. I played with it until I could turn on the system without the spray on light coming on. Can you just get a new test button or is a new controller needed? If so, how much are these? I'll contact Steve if noone knows but I'd rather ask here first then bother an already very busy man. Thanks.
