Spring Rod Run in Pigeon Forge, TN

I'll be heading down to the Spring Rod Run in Pigeon Forge, TN April 12-15 with the GN. Has anyone else gone before or will any of you be there this year?

I've tried (and I only live 12 miles away), but once I get within about 2 miles of the place, traffic comes to a slow crawly in it literally takes me over 2 hours to make the last 2 miles to get to our usual gathering place. So I now no longer attend.

Im down here now.. I try and avoid the rod run at all costs!! Just as turbodave said

I've had a lot of luck taking the back roads around and staying off the main drag where traffic gets really bad at night.
Usually once I find a place to park in town I walk around the rest of the day. You do get to see a lot of nice cars though.
