You might want to post this in the Stage II forum but I think I can give you what you need to know. The Stage I block is easier to configure as it will accept all the stock components. You will have to get an early style oil pan and pick up from a 14 bolt motor (pre '84) and a timing cover too. Everything else is a bolt on.
The Stage II block is machined from the same casting (if we're comparing off center blocks) but has steel 4 bolt main caps at the #2 & 3 positions and is drilled for 14 bolt heads also. Stage II motors require a special oil pickup or can be set up as a dry sump configuration. There are some differences in the oiling system but I think this gives you the info you need.
