I'm trying to get my build finished (as soon as I get the trans built) but im looking to buy a new turbo in the future (after some more over time) but right now I'm running the stock one, but I'm wondering is a 2800 stall tc going to be to much till I upgrade?

no,but 2800 may be to low for the bigger turbo if your not carefull in your selection.

Very important if you are going with a lock up convertor (and not forcing L/U on the other end which you shouldnt IMO) to get it as tight as possible for turbo to spool otherwise the the car will low on the slop in the stall on the big end (2nd and 3rd).

IMO if you need a stall of 3000 or higher then go non L/u to retain good slip%. 2800 is on the fence

I see. I was wanting something streetable (my WE-4 will be my dd till I get this damn honda done) so I don't want an outrageous stall. I was thinking of like a 5857E or a 6057

And my last post should be "lay on the slop" not "Low".

A 5857 BB with a with a 2800 at 5 psi should work out well.
Journal bearing forget it it will be laggy.

Whats your ET goal?

Mid to low 11s. I dont go to the track muck, just run it hard on mountain roads... I mean road corse. But I'm gonna be using it as a dd for a little while so I dont need a 10.0 drag car. (although I would enjoy it:D)

I thought the 58/57 was the TE44 replacement? If so, I ran mine with a stock converter with journal bearing, and it lagged but still 60'd at 1.87 and made 5psi on the beam, but my current converter stalls at a real 2700 rpm, and spins the TE44 like MMMAAADDD! Like driving a big block car. I worry the PAC won't keep up... Either way, Precision states you can run a 62/62 Journal with a 2800 stall, I think one day I'll try that. And I'm definately no turbo expert, but this is my experience thus far...
