I am going to buy a translator with a new MAF ls1 or lt1, which translator do u guys suggest I buy for my 85 GN with tt chip and 86/87 ecm?

I have gen ll. if you are a novice I'd say just the maf. It seems simple. The maf ll has many adjustments and takes some time to learn.

Just my opinion. If I know what I know now I would just do the translator.

Thanks for the feed back. I'm not a novice but I am by far an expert so I think I'll start off simple and go from there. Thanks again

I've been told a chip and maf will get you into the 10's.
I would do a wideband for sure.
Maybe some other guys will weight in.

More and more speed density is making it's way into turbo Buicks. Gets rid of the maf quirks and gives the user more adjustability. Now it can be done with a powerlogger and a chip. This should be option as well.

I'm a fan of the basic translator and newer MAF. The MAF issues seem to go away with a modern one.

Thanks for all the help. I just ordered the regular translator with the LT1 MAF from turbo tweak. I'll start with this setup and c how it works for now and then go from there.

keeping it simple to start is always the best got a scan tool or scan master should always be the first mod on these cars.

X2 on the wide band.

I bought a scanmaster before I did anything else. Now I just have to figure out why it isnt running worth a shit. Thats why I wanted to get a new maf and I'll c what happens. I'm also gonna block off my EGR tonite and c what that does??????? Wish me luck

Research that egr blockoff and make sure your chip has no egr function in it. They can be a bear to seal.

its a tt chip I thought when I bought it I was told the EGR didnt matter if it was there or not. I hope I'm right maybe someone knows if this is true? Its a 5.7 TT chip
