Starter ground issue?

Every now and then my '87 GN will just not start. Starter won't crank, but everything else works and has power. After a few mins it will start and run fine.
Some retro theft system ? Has anybody else had this happen ?

When it won't crank see if the purple wire at the starter gets hot. If it does, you have a starter issue. If it doesn't, you have a wiring issue.
