I've been watching the WH evening press briefings. Slide ahead to 1:04:10 and listen to Dr Fauchi. In his world he'd keep us locked down till there are zero deaths and zero new cases of this virus. You'll never completely eradicate this virus. Think about it. No more sporting events, no more going to the beach, no more going out to restaurants...the list goes on. If this guy has Trumps ear, then life as we know it will be changed for a long long time and we'll be into another Great Depression. I noticed Trump didn't have him out last nite. I wonder if he's had enuf of him. Fauchi scares me...there's something about him I don't like...and I've always been a good judge of character.

I'd like to give this a hundred likes if I could. Trump is getting some horrible advice on this imho but he is no microbiologist and it looks like the ones advising him have an agenda. How many times have they changed their store in the last couple of weeks. Its bad, its not so bad, its going to be a disaster, well not as many cases as first thought. Just another flavor of the day guess. Where's Dr. Bill Gannon when we need him.

Trump was gonna start slowly opening things up April 12th...but has pushed it back 2 weeks. That would make it April 26th to fire things up again. If he pushes it back further, or gives no time line...then it's pucker your butt time.

You'll never completely eradicate this virus.
right and this strain will mutate every flu season.if people are scared now the next mutations down the road will strike fear into all.maybe by then we will all be prepared, right now the medical community is not and need time to play catch up.i think we need to help that curve as best we can.the future of how people will handle this mutation is more the question that i ask, will we adapt like in the past is the question.this is just the begininng

You know nothing! I've dealt with infection control since the early 90s when the HIV virus forced the dental field to take a close look at itself. Total lack of infection control and disinfection. They moved quick to start with basic disinfection and face protection with glasses and masks. As they learned more and more about how infections are spread they've increased the level of precautions. I've had to take least a one hour professional course on infection control each year for over 25 years. I've heard lectures from infection control specialists, FEMA doctors, emergency room dental doctors and nurses. PPE is so important it's crazy. Gloves changed after each patient, new masks, smocks must be left in the office and cleaned there. Disinfection protocols are stringent now. Cleaning wipedowns after each patient, floors cleaned every night, front office cleaned and disinfected including toys for kids, seats, desk tops, door handles, bathrooms. That's just for dental offices. Hospitals are even tougher. There are written schedules that are to followed. Of course some dental offices are scoff laws that don't follow the rules. They are eventually found out and sent packing. Now from my prospective, I've worked in an office and my wife had been a hygenist for 45 years. She used to always get sick and have conjunctivitis and bring it home to the family. Since doing more and more infection control she hasn't had a problem with conjunctivitis. Colds and flu has been cut in half or more. Thank God she never got some disease before they pushed infection control.
Fauchi is totally spot on. His recommendations are nothing new. We've been doing them for years. This is exactly what the infections experts I've seen have said would happen- no bullshit. Believe me they know way more than you think you do. Their agenda is to save people's lives. Nothing more. Like we listen to the TB experts here because they understand the TB inside and out and have studied and done the hard work. Fauchi et al are just like them. They've been there and done that. You think you can tune better than our Gurus? Doubt it.
On a side note, I've seen vaccination experts give lectures too. The notion that vaccinations cause autism is total bunk. Get vaccinated and get the flu shot.

Oh, and if you think a surgical mask, homemade one or bandanna is going to protect you from getting the corona virus your fooling yourself. The corona virus is 125 nanometers. A nanometer is 1 BILLIONTH of a meter. Bacteria is around 1000 nanometers. A perfectly fitting N95 mask can filter down to .3 microns 95% of the time so it can filter MOST of the bacteria and viruses. Remember this is a perfectly fitting mask. With a regular surgical mask, the pores are too wide to stop the virus. They get worse after about 20 minutes of breathing with them since the pores open up even more when they get damp from your breath. So if someone coughs in the air and the fume pushes out about 10 feet, the bigger chunks of mucus might be stopped by the surgical mask but at even farther distances the virus flying out can pass through the mask like a bee flying through your open car window. A mask is just making you think your doing something.

my wife is a dental assistant...24 yrs... who knows how long their office will be closed...but she rarely gets sick..maybe once or twice a year.. so I am glad for the precautions they take now days pronto.. and ive seen and sterilized ER rooms and surgical rooms when I was an orderly for three years as a youngster...we never wore masks back then (late 80's) im glad times have changed for the rest of us ... now I have my own crazy theories on the rise in autism cases ..but agree its not form vaccines

If everyone was set financially then we could shut things down for several months. Unfortunately, this isn't a perfect world and governments can't shut things down indefinitely. With so many out of work, there isn't enuf revenue created to pay back the trillions trying to keep people afloat financially. I'm betting the reasoning for shutting down for a month is to get the hospitals prepared for the inevitable. People are gonna die, that's the grim reality.

Yeah, the snowflakes were going crazy with just seeing a MAGA hat so now they must be ready to pop their cookies. The hospitals will never be ready because most are for profit organization so go as cheap as they can. Prepared, only if they're forced to. Maybe my memory is failing but does anybody remember panic like this over polio or TB growing up? The chinese have reopened their live animal markets again, even after all of this so in 6 months they'll another new scare. That whole pos country should be quarantined by the world.

The body count from the shutdown will dwarf the body count of the virus. I highly doubt any real analysis will ever take place to compare the two. This is not about valuing greed above lives, this about valuing livelihood for the regular Joe above the risk to the regular Joe by the virus. At 52 my energy is waning, but if the economy gets destroyed enough by this nonsense, I hope I have enough energy to go full fucking caveman and take what I need to survive and deal with anything that gets in the way.

The difference now is the internet and social media. All we had back in the day was television and newspapers. The MSM can throw things up on the Net as fast as know ones business....and then the public runs with it. MSM is much to blame for the hysteria.

The point that the immunologists are making up till this happened was such a sudden increase in patients would overwhelm the system from supplies to beds to personnel and have a national plan.

Dr. Fonzie changes like the wind at each passing day. Lets see how all his recommendations work with isolation for a year and people are thrown into the streets with just the clothes on their backs. Vast majority are living paycheck to paycheck and forecast of at least 30% mortgage defaults. Yup, the elitists know what's best for them. Remember the needs of the few outweigh the needs of the many. Dr. Fonzie's recommendations being done for years, I just forgot about all the depressions they caused by shutting the economy down over all the panics I guess.
Lets get the flu vaccination and the flu 10 days later and just as a bonus get a small amount of mercury along with it, thank you very much. Maybe a few vaccines won't cause problems but the way they want to pump these things into kids is nuts. Military does lots of them also requiring sometimes 2-3 doses and even more when going overseas.
They should rename this thing, "The Lets Try To Get Trump Again Virus" I see adam shit wants to start more investigations into Trump over the "virus" Now there's a freak that should be locked away for observation.
I respect your opinion but think there's much evil behind this outbreak.

Totally agree with you on this, all it is is a feel good about it thing. Laugh at these people wearing them in the store, even funnier while driving, and their eyes are exposed or perhaps a lesion on their body somewhere to let it in. My friend said he sneezed in the store, has mild allergies, and the sheeple around him panicked like a herd of wild water buffalo. Should wear the old M-17 gas mask into the grocery store for the reaction.

yes it is a grim reality ...but will

here's one for you KC87 LOL.... o_O

Come on, we already know you're crazy so lets hear your theory on it. By the way, your Mrs. has survived you all these years so what chance has some old virus.
Oh oh, your days as an orderly! I hear another story coming about nurse Wanda! "Attention, Attention, cleanup in ER-4, cleanup in ER-4":LOL::LOL:

Doctors take an oath to help people, so I understand them wanting to shut things down to save lives. What they don't grasp is the economic fallout. The one month shutdown is buying time to get the hospitals up to speed without the economy completely collapsing.

Right on. I'd like to see how many would rather be working now that sitting at home knowing in a month or two they may not have a roof over their head or food to eat. For sure, 52 is getting a bit up there to start over again. Yesterday some guy in ny shot his girlfriend and than himself over losing his job. Bet it happening way more than being reported. Remember a job is a BIG part of many people's lives.

I pointed out in another post that the 2017-18 flu, latest year available, 814,000 people were hospitalized with it and no where near that number for the chinese flu. There's only a million worldwide cases as of today so where have all the beds gone.
