Anyone have a steel braided turbo oil line go bad? Thought it had to be the intake gasket corner, but looks like the hose is leaking around the steel braiding????????? Should I go back to stock rubber or try to pick up another steel? any suggestions on just taking this line off and replacing it without ripping off half the top end......???? thanks

any of the companies (aeroquip etc..) say the hoses are good for 10 years. try caling the company you got yours from and see if they will warranty it.

You use a rubber turbo oil supply line to feed your turbo, why not the stock steel line, or are you using a turbo saver??, but I do not believe you should use rubber, if anything stay with the braided, IMHO.

most stainless steel braid reinforced hose is rubber. With time and heat it does degrade. Unfortunately aftermarket hose will not last as long as OEM hose like the ones used on the factory oil cooler lines.

stainless braid reinforced teflon tube is the best to use. Teflon will last a very very long time and it candle more heat too. Harder to find though... ask for it by name.

One went bad, and I ran over the fitting on another one!

Now I just keep a few extras in the box!

Stainless braid with turbo saver.

I got an Earls -3 stainless brake line for my turbo feed, no worries here with pressure etc.

Sounds like he is referring to the oil drainback line... and YES, they leak.

I've got one on my car and it leaks just like the piece of crap I had on my last GN.

Funny thing is, I never had a stock one leak.

"Should I go back to stock rubber or try to pick up another steel?"
The stock feed line was not rubber.
The stock return line was not, either....

Problem is oil can reach 400 degree's.. especially how hot the turbo gets.

The factory lines where both metal. Teflon hose is rated to 450 degree's. Rubber hose is rated to 250. There are some rubber hoses rated into the 300 degree range. And some really high end rubber hoses(Nascar) that will handle 400degree's.

Teflon hose in a large diameter will not bend. Its like a drinking straw. So the only way to get a hose to live, get a SS braided teflon one and run fittings 45 and 90's to get a straight shot.. big pain in the ass.

Good luck.

does anyone know what the oil feed line on a remote system is made of i just bought a ss rubber oil feed line after hearing RAZOR i guess i bought the wrong sh!t.

A earl's or aeroquip braided rubber hose will work fine for several years. Just plan on swapping it out after a while. Just Try to get teflon tube the next time.

if the steel oem parts work so good, then why not duplicate that and make some steel lines?
