If my GN sits for more than a day, when I turn on the vent, the air comes out the defrost for a while. Seems to take a few minutes and then BAM, the actuator door (or whatever it is) flaps and the air starts to come out the vents. Anyone know which actuator this would be? I hate to pull the whole dash for this one thing... Also, it seems to switch from defrost to vent faster if I put the HVAC on A/C.

They do test your patience, :DWhen they run right/o_OEveryother day of the year

Sounds like you have a sticky flapper if you hear it slam open.

This isn't a slam dunk but it never hurts to fog the vents with Lysol on these old cars every few years. Even if it doesn't work, at least you'll know there's a few dead science experiments in the ductwork :)
