My transmission likes to not shift every once and awhile, it's getting worse and more annoying.
Basically, it doesn't matter if I'm WOT or idle or anywhere inbetween, the transmission will stick and want to rev out whatever gear it is in, I have to kick the throttle to get it to shift. REALLY annoying when trying to make a pass.
The transmission was built by Vince Janis about a year ago... I had a sticking throttle valve, which he used a heavier spring on to fix. It worked great for awhile, now is doing it again.
So... since I'm no tranny guy, I would assume it's the throttle valve again.
Now, I want to have the car ready for Bowling Green (I'd also like to have it done for this weekend, but it isn't as important as BG), I've called both local guru's and both are backed up until after BG(Lonnie and Vince). Lonnie said he could walk me through it, but I haven't had any luck getting ahold of him again.
My question, what do I need to do to fix it? Can I just buy a new valve body from Vince or Lonnie, or what? Lonnie mentioned something about polishing the valve and that it's possible the boost valve is sticking as well.
