Can someone please verify this MAF part # for me? #25007861

According to the Big list of part# this is not the correct part#. It states the correct part # is 25007866

I'm working on a friends car and the stock MAF has junk yard yellow paint on the underside so I suspect it may not be correct. Not too many GN/TR make it to the wrecking yard out here in Calif.

The car in question is an 1986 TR
Is it possible that a different part# was used in 1986?

If this is not the correct part # for 86/87 GN /TR what is it for?

Thanks for your help in the matter.

Can't verify mine at the moment.

I know that they stopped making MAF units on our cars a while back. You'd be lucky to find one anywhere. You may have to get a newer one off an ls1 engine and buy a special translator so the computer can use it.

You might want to get ahold of a scan tool and get some readings from it if it. It should read 255 at WOT.

Yes, I know they are no longer availble from GM Ijust wanted to know if this is a correct stock MAF or not.
I will reccomend going with a translator & LT1MAF if he needs a new one.

The problem is the motor is apart right now do to a blown head gasket. I want to find the cause of the lean condition and not just fix the effect.

Freddie, the brand new unit I have on the shelf is the 861. So I know that one is right. As for what the 866 is for, I don't have an answer.

My new one in the box is 866 and the original one off my GN (87) is 861. SOOOO the 866 is a new replacement 2 generation version..

Thanks a lot guys for clearing this up. Maybe someone should forward this info to the big list and add both #'s to prevent this confussion later on.

Thanks agian,
