This is for everyone that are running stock turbos and injectors. What has been your experience running 93 octane chips verses running 100 and 108 and 110 chips? What do you think the best timing to use would be, 20,22,24,26,etc,? Have you had to turn your fuel pressure down to get the 02's where you want them? AT present I'm running a JC 110 chip at 18lbs. of boost with little or no knock. Is there a better combination such as a lower timing chip and not loose the hard pull that I get in 3rd gear with this chip? If I added some xylene to the gas tank could I increase the boost a couple of lbs.? Sorry for all of the questions, just trying to find the optimum set-up with the stock turbo and injectors. How about some results with similar combinations? Thanks, R.B.

Ah, I am running a Thrasher 100, but I am afraid I am going to be out of fuel when the weather gets cool. Right now I am getting 750-790 O2's in 90º heat. I need a bigger jet because the .025 one I have now is not getting the job done.

The Thrasher 100 feels like it has 10 times the top end my RA93 chip has. If I were you I would back down to about a 23º chip and turn the boost up to about 20-21psi

I was running a MM 108 chip stock injectors, turbo etc. The 93 was a dog even at 21psi. I managed to get it to run high 12s on 93 octane with the 108 chip at around 21lbs without locking the converter and this was on 235 street radials. Don't go above 21-22 lbs on the stock turbo. Its pretty much done at that level.

I'm running an old MM OPS street chip (93 octane). With 18psi and alky the car runs 13.1@106. Tonight I'm gonna run 21psi and hopefully gain a couple mph.

I have tried a Thasher 92 and 108. The 92 ran good and the 108 was way too much timing for my combo.

I need to just spend the $$ and get my extender reburnt for stock injectors.

I am working the boost up slowly.

Reds 93 chip in the GN.

SMC kit wide open flow. Turn on around 13psi.

At 18psi. now in all gears no hint of KR.

O2's in the 820's.

No bogging either. :)

Gonna shoot for 21psi. or so with the stock stuff.

Got some Bosch greentops to put on the car however and more chips for those than the stockers.

How were you able to run 21lbs of boost with the MM108 chip running the stock turbo and injectors? How much timing is in that chip? I can only run 17-18lbs of boost with the JC 110 chip.

I turned the pump to 10, turned the boost to 21 psi, and put in the MM108 chip. That was pretty much it. It ran like a scalded dawg with less than 4 WOT tuning passes. I think the chip had about 24 or 26* of timing.

Steve I am using a 90psi standard pump now. Once I kill it I will go to a Shurflow. I have the pump maxed so the only option I have is bigger jetting. Just put my .028 jet in and I am going to give her a whirl tomorrow

rb68rr,
FWIW....My car ran well with 23-24psi, 26*, and about 46-48psi base pressure. As stated already, your car will probably run better with the stock turbo if you use more timing as opposed to very high boost settings. My car ran 110mph trap speeds with 91 California MTBE junk gas and a 70/30 Meth/water combo. EGT's were in the 1550 range at the end of the track. A good free flowing exhaust is mandatory. I also saw a large improvement with a big neck conversion on the stock I/C.

Hope that helps....
