I installed a used 200-4r from someone who blew the motor. It runs strong and shifts great but it will not shift at WOT. At all other throttle angles it shifts fine even at 90-95% but when floored no shift? Any ideas?

BAck off the TV setting 1-2 clicks or cut a half coil off the TV plunger spring.

Put a weaker spring in with the T.V. limit valve.

Ttype6 can you explain why please? I know a weaker spring will change the inital setpoint but how does it change the WOT. Confused??

sal drive the car over here when you have free time and ill try to advise you on what you should do.

The TV limit valve does exactly what its name implies. It limits the amount of pressure in the TV circuit. The w.o.t. shift points are determined by the governor and the amount of pressure in the TV circuit. Adjusting the TV cable won't change the w.o.t. shift points. If you want to raise w.o.t.shift points you can raise the pressure in the TV circuit by putting a stronger spring in with the TV limit valve, put a weaker spring in the governor,or grind some material off the small weight on the governor. To lower w.o.t. shift points you can do the opposite. If I have a trans that shifts good at part throttle to medium throttle I like to make the adjustment in the TV limit valve. If the shift points are too high at all throttle openings I make the adjustment with the governor spring. Either way, you'll need a way to measure the springs strength. I use a kitchen scale. I press the spring against the scale to a predetermind height and read the scale. A difference of 4 ounces should make a noticable difference on the TV limit spring. A two ounce difference on the governor spring will make a noticable difference. You can't guess. You'll need a scale.
