I noticed this morning driving to work that when coming to a stop there was a slight "hum" from the front of the car coming to a stop. Almost sounded like tire noise, but going 25-0 I have never heard it before.

Left work and as soon as I got on the highway, the TRAC OFF, ANIT-LOCK, & SERVICE VEHICLE SOON lights all came on simultaneously. Car ran and drove fine. Made it 40 miles home and stopped at Autozone to have it scanned, they came up with nothing. I guess they can only get info from Service Engine Soon lights. Started the car to leave Autozone and all of the lights were OFF! Drove for about 5 minutes and they all came back on.

Anyone have any clue where to start with this? Car runs & drives just as before, any help is appreciated.

autozones' "scanner" cannot scan ABS or Airbag codes.....sounds like Abs pump is going out? have the ABS system scanned by a qualified shop....good luck. PS,don't let the battery go dead or unhook battery...there is saved data in the abs module that will tell the tech what happened that day.

Amost like tire noise...or single engine plane sort of sound? That's usually a wheel bearing. And since you said the ABS,traction control came on that's probably what it is because the sensor is part of the bearing.

also think it sounds like wheel hub/ bearing - most common reason for abs light & trac lite to come on togeher

Thanks so much guys. I posted over on Regalgs.org as well and got 4-5 replies within an hour that said wheel bearing. Just glad its not the ABS control module, Delco ones are over $500 from RockAuto!!

Anyway, I might not get to the job until next weekend, should it be ok for another 400 miles? Is it worth replacing both at the same time?

Great:confused: I just had the same thing happen to me today with the ABS\SES lights comming on, with all the snow\shush I don't hear any noises.

Any issues with continued highway driving with a bad ABS module? as this is my daily driver?

I think I had the 2 front wheel bearings\hub replaced last year when I had a vibartion at highway speeds, ended up being the tires.

Is the TRAC OFF light on as well (even if you have traction control on)? If so, then its a wheel bearing. Just because they were replaced recently doesnt mean it cant be the hub bearings. As a matter of fact, I would be more inclined to think they were bad since they were replaced. Its almost impossible to find good hub bearings nowadays, hardly any of them are manufactured in the US. The cheap aftermarket ones usually only last about 10k miles.
