I used to have a bit of a stumble off idle problem, which is generally attributed to the 009s. I had the car tuned up, the IAC set, the TPS set, and all that good stuff and the problem was 95% eliminated. Saturday, I had the car out for the first time in about 3 weeks, and after driving around for a half hour, the tip in stumble made itself noticable. Then at one light I have it a quarter throttle kick off the line and the car completely died. If it matters, it was VERY humid this day. I was able to start it right up again and off I went. IAC was right around 50 at idle, TPS still at .42, everything looked fine... The problem is most noticable if I either stab it a bit off the line, or I punch it, let off quick, and punch it again. If I ease the throttle gently, or brake torque, it's perfect. I think overall the thing is running like a champ though. With a gradual flooring, by the time it hits full boost the tires are going up in smoke until I let off. I just hate) #1. Possibly getting rear ended by someone automatically assuming my car will go at the green light. or #2. Looking like a schmuck stalling while trying to get a little jump on someone!

I'm thinking a tighter converter would help. Does it take a year and a day to build boost? A TE-60 is pretty big to not use a tighter converter with, from all that I've seen.

You should go to the gntype.org sight and learn how to set all these things. Having said that..:)

I have found that making small (one-half turns) adjustments of the air bleed screw will not affect a correctly set tps settings so much that it really matters, Having said that...:)

Turn the air bleed screw in a half turn. Seems the right way to give you more air on humid days. If that doesn't work, go out a half turn from the original setting.

I had the same problem. I opened the air bleed a half turn. My idle tps is set at .36 (supposed to be .42) but it ain't broke, so I'm not going to try to fix it! :)

No problem with my 009s. My TPS is also at .42 but by IAC is at 28 with the car warm in gear. By the way, does your WRX engine "hammer" for a while after you first start it?

Thanks for the input guys. By tighter converter, do you mean hhigher stall? (I would think that would be looser). Anywy, it doens't take long to boost at all, maybe a half second longer than my WRX really. You really don't NEED a different stall converter than stock with a TE-60 as long as you don't go with the Precision housing, which I did not. That housing would have added lag to my setup.
As far as the IACs, I was guessing they were a bit high. They actually used to be around 70-80 before I had it tuned. I would think it was a problem except I took it to a guy who knows TRs like the back of his hand and has raced/worked on them for years and years (Dave Hentz, Kirban's recommended guy), and we spent all day tinkering with it to get it just right. Oh well, maybe it was the mega-high humidity. We'll see.
Spoolin86, yes my WRX sometimes taps when cold. It's normal for the Suby boxers. In the summer it does it less because it's warmer. If it continues to tick, then get your cam-belt tensioner replaced. Mmmm, ordering my turboxs stage 2 kit next week :)

That's were mine had been. Took them down to 0 and eliminated the problem. Have moved them up to 10 now after a tps adjustment.

Hmm, well maybe it's worth a shot turning them down then. Did you jsut use the procedures on GNTTYPE.ORG? or did you do something else. I remember reading over that and was a bit confused.

Pay close attention to the INT and BLM counts. I have 009's and had a bad tip in stumble from dead idle. If BLM's are very low or high for that fact and the integrator is way off from 128 then the computer is trying make adjustement to correct fuel delivery. Too much variation in the INT and BLM's is not a good thing. That is why people love extender chips with open loop mode. Locks INT and BLM at 128. HTH
