Actually you'd be surprised at what the human body can endure and not get hurt too much. I watched a guy get ran over much like that once and the worst thing he got was some small exhaust burns and a little road rash - he didn't even go to the hospital.

Then again, I watched a guy coming down a sand dune in Glamis (Patton Valley), and right at the very bottom with about 5 feet left to go, he rolled over. He was not moving any faster then walking speed and it did not look bad at all.

He broke his neck and died at the scene
