I hear guys talk about chips and I hear guys talk about ECMs

What is the difference? I know where the ECM is, but where is the "chip?"

Thanks for clearing that up!

The ECM ("Electronic Control Module") is behind the kick panel by the passenger's feet, but you knew that. The "Chip" is behind a panel that you can remove from the ECM by removing 2 screws --1/4". The ECM is an aluminum box about the size of a text book. The chip is the size of, well, a chip! The ECM consists of a circuit board and various integrated circuits. The 'chip' is like the cpu, but has all of the significant programming on it to control spark, fuel, and all performance features.
