I want to buy one 10' sub what is the difference between 2 ohm and 4 ohm.

Thanks

The amount of resistance the woofer has.

Check your amp to see if it's truly stable at 2ohms before you buy it. Alot of amps "Say" they are, but they overheat easiely because they can't support it.

A 2ohm woofer will see 2X the amp rating (if the amp is rated in 4ohms.... some are dual rated).

I have a amp rated at 95w mono into a 4ohm system. If I make it 2ohms, I'll see 190w at the speaker.

Most people use 2 4ohm woofers, wire them in series to drop the ohms to 2 for more power.

Are you asking about a dual voice coil 4 ohm or a dual 2 ohm subwoofer because they don't usually have single voice 2 ohm woofers.

If it is a dual voice coil sub than you will have to go with the dual 2 ohm woofer. This will work with any amplifier.
