I know this is the turbo buick section but maybe someone hear can still
have a suggestion.

I have a 2000 Regal GS and I found that the blower oil level is low.
My question is, IS the oil a special oil that only the dealer has or is there
an alternative?

run over to the dealer and tell them that you need supercharger oil. the only stuff ive ever used and seen used is the GM oil.

you can also try ZZP in Michigan, they sell the GM stuff, don't use anything but the GM stuff, and I believe they can get it to you for under what the stealership will charge you.

GM Part No. 12345982. Comes in a 4 ounce bottle. Takes almost two entire bottles to fill the s/c snout. As indicated above, you can get it cheaper online than from a dealership.

FWIW: When I had my 2000 GTP, I changed it at around 20K miles. Here's a link on how to do it (although I used the top of a spray bottle instead of a turkey baster):

There IS an alternative, but I have no experience with it... check the SC3800 forum of this site... not very busy there but I got helped out.

Hi,
I disagree, think 30 weight synthetic is fine. My '96 Buick Riviera manual says so. By the way, if you are using blower oil, you have a leaky seal. Oil use equals detonation, which means poor performance. These OBDII systems pick it up fast, and retard spark AND richen fuel even faster. By the way, at 40K, my Riviera has yet to use a drop of blower oil. Now, engine oil is another story. These series II motors seem to like a quart or more between changes. Must be those low tension rings...
