Im gonna upgrade my suspension, i was thinking of going with bilsteins. kinda on the expensive side, can anyone tell me if its worth the money. I want a good handling as well a shock good for street and strip. I have a pinion snubber right side air bag. gonna put an atr stabilizer bar. any input would be greatly appreciated. can you guys recommend any good shocks. thanks.

I have the KYB gas shocks and I like the feel of the ride with them. As for why I got them they are cheap about $150 for 4 of them. If you want to go expensive go with the Koni. Last time I looked in August the Blistiens were around $55 bucks a piece while the Konis are around $100 bucks a piece. One thing I did that I thought helped the way the car rode was get all the missing body bushings even the GNX ones. It helps tighten up the car.

What kind of coil springs r u runnin cause I am lookin into doin my suspension. I am goin w/ boxed lower control arms , energy suspension kit, and most likely the KYB shocks. I have not decided on my springs though.

I went with Moog 5660 upfront to drop it an inch from stock and I don't remember the part # to the back springs but they raise it an inch from stock. I have airbags but I haven't put them in yet. Even with the boxed lowers I'm still getting wheel hop.

i have the eibach spring kit and bilsteins.i really like the ride and stance.

WFO, what is the stance like w/ the eibachs, Is it noticably lower and is the handling better. I have been lookin into the eibach kit. Do u have any pics i could see of it. Thanx

it sits about 1.5" lower in the front and 1" lower in the back.the handling was greatly improved and it loses that "4x4" look:D.

btw,i'm running 275-50-15's in the back and 235-60-15's in the front and have little to no rubbing problems.

i also have billet lower control arms,a pinion snubber and air bags.i keep just enough air in the bags to keep them inflated when i'm not at the track.

later,sean

Get belltech spindles and rear coils. tazgn has them on his GN and it looks sweet!!! I'll probably go the same route and, buy a set of metco upper and lower control arms. My baby deserves only the best!:D And if you want to go all out on shocks, buy a set of QA1 System 1 Coilovers for the fronts and QA1 Stocker Star AL for the rears. oooooooooooohhhh I want those too!!! someday

Havent tried too many different types of shocks on mine, but I like the Billsteins that I have now. $50~ ea. w/ lifetime warranty @ Auto Zone.
Also, I have a ttop car and it handles and rides great. If you dont already have them, get the front reinforcement bars and rear seat braces. The (2) front bars that install at a angle I got from a Cutlass. I found the third piece that completes the triangle on a Grand Prix. Rear seat braces were from Kirban.

Does tazgn have any rubbin issues w/ the belltech kit. Also what size wheels is he runnin. And if u know did it effect the ride/Thanx

my 84 had koni's on them when i got it, i have no idea how many miles were on them. After about a year I put Bilsteins on and it was like night and day. The Bilstein's were so much better, they handle better and drove smoother. Again I didn't know how many miles were on the knoi's but I love my bilsteins and they will go on every TR i ever own!!
