Switching from Vigilante to PTS Xtreme (9/11) questions

I have a Vigilante right now that is I think 3200 or so. I need more convertor like 3700. I was thinking about the 9/11 and need to know if the it will slip more on the big end of the track. I go through the traps now at about 5900 RPM which is just right. If I go to the PTS Xtreme with a 3700 stall, will I go through the traps at a higher RPM? I heard the Vigilante convertors aren't very efficient.

PS. I dont want to lock the convertor when racing.

From what I have read and experienced ,(I never had a vig, but friends do) the 9x11 is by far more efficient on the top end.
