I have a leak when I wash the car that runs down the A pillar comes out from under the trim molding... The rubbers are pretty new. I think it is leaking under the weather stripping.

after time the factory seam sealer breaks down...from age and chassis twisting..3m makes a product that will flow into the cracks and seal them up...

What is this product called, and where can it be bought?

Thanks,
Jerry

Leak repair round 2.....
Gn is still kcking my tail... I knew better then to get a T-top car !!!!!

I wanted a hard top.... but this one was really nice and low mileage... My wife is gettign tired of me working on it since I said hey it is in good shape etc so she she says why are you always working on this car that was in such great shape.... ok ok .... I had to fix the AC... relay and a pressure switch... and recharge... couple days.... the headliner fell down on the drive home... 250 bucks plus and I got that fixed... the previous owner said the radio was not that great I did not really check it out... well the right channel was dead... replaced it with a nice Pioneer unit... another 250 bucks....IT had no mufflers was too loud put some magnaflows under it... on my back int he garage.. sounds great BTW. Now the leaks which the previous owner said was just a drip was a flood....

Today... I found out why... When they put the new weather stripping in they pulled the inserts out and cleaned them and left all the scews out of the front piece... So I go buy some new SST screws and scew it back down with some sealant that said it was made for sealing this sort of thing... So I take all the trim out so I can check things out... I reglued all the weather stripping in the corners and the driver side passed the water hose test !!!!

THe passenger side still dripped down the A pillar...
I pulled the rest of the trim off that side and I think I found the problem ther was a small hole in the weather stripping at the corner... I used some more of the clear silicon that said it was good for repairing weather stripping and laid a bead over that area.. and left it to dry over night.... Good news is I see no signs of rust and it proves this car was not drove in the rain LOL.....

I so hope I got it fixed... nothing pisses my wife off more than gettign wet riding in the car... been there done that in the TA......

I poured 1/2 glass of water down the passenger T-top seam and all stayed dry in the car... could it be fixed ? Stay tuned to as the GN turns for another up-date !

I Hate to say it but check for rust under the trim. Main reason I bought a Hardtop GN .My Monte SS is a T-Top car. no rust yet , so I used POR-15 on the whole top area. Good luck

Checked and saw no rust.

I put the trim back in and put it back under the carport and gave the wife the keys so she can drive it... since technically it is her hot-rod... I just pull maintenance and will perform the needed performance checks at the track etc.....;)
