Hi,

I use my car mainly on the street and I race it sometime, high 10, looking for mid 10.

I'm thinking about installing a transbrake and I'm wondering which way should I go I have both a 400 and 200... I heard that I cannot run a 400 with transbrake on the street but it's possible with a 200 ???

Basically, what I'm looking for is a button in the car that lock the tranny when I'm at the track... on the street, when I do not press the button, it work exactly as without a brake... is it possible ?

You can run a 400 on the street. Many people do it. The 400 with brake will be reverse manual and will require all shifts to be made. The 200 can be used with electric transbrake and retain full auto shifts. The 200 will still require the shifter to be put into manual low the engage the Brake. After the brake is released you can put the shifter back into drive and the car will shift itself. With the 200 you would never know the brake is there.

Thank for the answer...

for the 400, when you say that "require all shifts to be made" I'm not sure to understand... what if I'm on the highway at 60Mph, 3rd gear and floor it ? will the transmission wil automatically downshift second gear as usual ?

All shifts up or down will need to be made manually with the 400 that uses a transbrake. If you pull to stop light with shifter in 3rd it takes off in 3rd. Same with kick down if you dont shift it manually it wont happen. Nothing auto shifting with manual 400 W/Brake.

haaaa, ok got it, thanks for your clear explanation !!!!

Clear to me now !! I'll go all the way with the 200 and keep it automatic !!!!
