TA-60 with a stock dp?

I just bought a J. Craig ta-60 which I'm fixing to install in the next couple of days. John said I could run with the stock dp as long as the stock elbow is "ground" off to mate to the exhaust side of the turbo. Anybody ever run a bigger turbo like this with the stock dp? Any issues? I'm looking to buy a better dp right now but can't decide if I want a dp or the SMC alky kit. If the stocker dp won't have have many issues then I may go ahead and get in on the SMC group purchase for $297. Any thoughts? Thanks.
