TA49 launch

what psi/rpms do yall launch at w/ your TA49s? If anyone launches at like 2800rpms, what boost do you launch at? I'm just tryin to see if my turbo is spooling too slow...I've been told that my car spools WAY too slow for a TA49...but no one will give me numbers as to what it should be doing...

A TA49 should spool by 2350-2400 RPM. If not, you are too rich or have a pre-turbo exhaust leak.

Even a small exhaust leak will slow spool.

Check for header cracks, crossover joint leaks, turbo to header leak and wastegate flapper leaks

well, on the crossover joint there is a little bit of carbon...how should I close it up?...could it spool slow because of it running lean? My car right now is having some fuel probs and the sensor is reading lean so it retards the timing soooooo far that I can barely accel and flooring it will flood the engine...but I can have the turbo start to push boost at like 2000rpms...not that it helps any...luckly its not doing it right now so it is drivable. When you say it should be spooled by 2400, is that the full 12 pounds of boost?

Yes, as much boost as the brakes will hold.
