how hard is it to install ta49 turbo in a 85, what would i need to do it. parts modifications etc.... would i need an adapter to fit the turbo on, also what size injectors. any info would be greatly appreciated. would a 33 be a better choice. thanks!!

I have a TA33C from John Craig - Limit Engineering. Its basically a stock housing...stock mount but with ported inside to fit a bigger compressor wheel. It also came with a ported stock type elbow.

I think it flows about 700 CFM - someone chime in here and help me if i'm off....the stocker flows around 390 CFM I think.

Its very comparable to a TA49.

Check out this link at gnttype.org:

also you will find pics of the TA49 in that section of the site.

Talk to the guys at Precision Turbo and Engine http://www.precisionte.com/ they are coming out with a new line of turbos using Garret technology. They won't be ready for another 2 months at least but from what I've been told it's going to be worth the wait. When I get my turbo I'm putting in 42.5# injectors and a 2800-3000 stall converter. I can hardly wait I've already bought the injectors and torque converter.:D
