I need to get a new turbo soon because mine is getting worse. It has been leaking oil, I guess the seals are going. I want to get a TA60, some 50# injectors a new chip and some alky but I don't have money for all at once. I might be able to get the turbo pretty soon but I don't have another $350 for injectors and then $75 for the chip(which I want to get burned for use with alky)...another $420 for alky.
So my question is this: If I don't run over 15psi, which is what I run now with the stock turbo, can I run the TA60 at the same psi and be ok until I get the other supporting stuff I need/want?
I have noticed a small amount(puff) of smoke if I rev it up for a second past 3,000 or so. The car still runs good, I just don't like oil getting where its not supposed to, for my peice of mind.
Opinions please.
Thanks, James

I have a TA60 myself you can run as much as 20 psi on that turbo with 30 pounds injectors with no problem as long as you have enough fuel from the chip and the regulator you should not have any problems running lean. go for it. btw the TA60 is a really nice turbo, i think i can go bigger because i have enough stall but this turbo spools like a bad out of hell, and another reason why i dont go bigger is because then i will have to go to bigger injectors and i dont want to worry about changing my combo now, it works really well, next time if you to know who much power you can get out of the injectors before running into trouble the formula is multiple injector size X 2 then whatever you get multiply by 6, thus giving you the amount of power the injectors can handle before going lean. your injectors are good for 360 flywheel HP.with 20psi on the TA60 you should be right there.

Just don't "forget" and crank up the boost. You'd also be more likely to do damage in any kind of over boost scenario (like the wastegate Y hose blowing off) because it could be lean too.

Thanks...thats awesome to know. I will still have to stick to around 15psi because we have crap 91 octane here and I don't want to spend money on race gas. I guess I will start looking for a turbo :D
Then I can clean out my I.C. and it will stay clean.
Thanks!!!

Quick question:
The cheapest place I have found for the turbo is through PTE for $675 and John Craig has it for $710, both prices are for just the turbo.
Anybody have a preference and a reason. I know John Craig is an awesome vendor and everybody has good dealings with him. Should I spend $35 dollars more to get it from him, and why?
Thanks, James.

I've read alot and the TA60 is the turbo for me.
Check your mail box for that finders fee. I'm mailing it out now;)
