I've had trouble with with exhaust leaks between my turbo and down pipe. Both flanges have some pitting and I've used ultra copper a few times but the leak comes back. Anyway today I tried a copper gasket and while trying to slowly tighten the bolts to compress the gasket I pulled a few threads on the top rear bolt hole  . That copper gasket was really difficult to compress so I decided to go back again with just ultra copper. After a trip to the hardware store I chased the threads and then installed installed studs. I didn't put much torque on the one with the damaged threads so I don't know if it will hold. I'm going to wait until tomorrow night to start it up. I know I could heli coil it but I'm considering replacing the housing because of the pitting if that's possible? Would I be better off milling this housing and repairing the threads with a heli coil? Would a different exhaust housing be an option as a performance upgrade?

I found this chart on gnttype and it only shows one original option for the compressor and turbine on a TA60 so this should be what I have. I'm pretty sure it says A/R .60 on the compressor housing but I'm not there to double check right now.

Thanks guys. The help is always appreciated.

Having the housing resurfaced and heli-coiling the threads would work or replacing the housing would work. The problem may have been the pulled threads slipping all the while, allowing for the leak. The copper gasket should be the cure for the leak w/the heli-coil repair.
Used housings were running around a $100.00 and up depending on the a/r ratio. Bison would be better able to update that info. If it's time for an upgrade, now would be a good opportunity.

exhaust housings dont come off easily due to the baked on carbon.....hit it with a belt sander and helicoil it
