I have an issue with my converter locking up at partial throttle once in 2nd gear or above.. I saw in another Post where Mike said to check the voltage to the F pin when the brakes are applied. Can I just use a test light or should I use a meter and am I looking for a specific voltage ?? I didnt want to post in the other guys thread and HIJAK it. Thanks in advance..

Does it do it all the time or just after the trans gets warm. If it does it just after the trans gets warm replace the TCC solenoid. If it does it all the time check the voltage at the ALDL connector pin "F" and make sure it is reading around 12V. When you depress the brake pedal it should go to 0V. If it always reads 0V you could have a short somewhere or the ECM is bad.

Ill have to check to see if its doing it before the converter warms up. I know it DEFINITELY does not disengage when I lightly hold the brake pedal on. It seemed alot worse with the Quad Air 93 chip than it does now with the 107 chip... Ill get a meter on the F pin today. Thanks for the info..

Mike, I checked tonight and the "F" pin has power when the key is on. As soon as I touch the brake pedal its off. Can I do this same test down at the plug on the TCC valve to be sure that everything is getting to the valve okay ?? Figured I better ask before I probed something I shouldnt down there ha ha...
Thanks

Sounds like you have a bad TCC solenoid. If the power on "F" goes to 0v when you hit the brake pedal then the converter should unlock. Replace the solenoid.
