is the torque converter clutch inside the converter? how much is a new TCC? my car in drive and overdrive around 30-45 mph w/little or no gas applied jolts back and forth lightly and when gas is aplied further it jolts violently and only stops if you back off it or give it more gas. it used to do it only in drive now it started to do it in overdrive. could it be the TCC solenoid? please help. aamco transmission warranty time is running out. i hate ammco but i have no money and its warrantied. i hate them sooo much. transmission has under 500 miles on it.

Yes the clutch is in the converter. The controls are in the transmission as well as your ECM/chip and brake switch.

What I'd do first would be to determine if it's a TCC system problem or a control problem. Before you start, probe terminal 'A' on the connector that plugs into your transmission with the key on, engine off. (The terminals are labeled on the connector; look closely.) You should have a solid 12 volts on this terminal. If you don't, or if it's intermitent, you need to fix that. It could be your brake switch adjustment.

If you've got a solid 12 volts there, do this. Place a wire between the upper left & upper rightmost terminals of your ALDL connector under the dash (next to the radio pod). You can even put a switch on this wire if you'd like. With that wire in place, test drive the car and see if it locks up solid or does it still carry on.

If it locks up solid, you have a control problem like your chip settings or a loose wire causing it that you're temporarily bypassing. If it is still bucking, there is a transmission/converter problem that AAMCO needs to resolve.

ok where exactly is this connector that plugs into your transmission located at? and what/where is the brake switch and what is its function/purpose?

The connector is located on the driver-side of the transmission case. It's a four-way connector.

The brake switch is under the dash, attached to the brake pedal assy. It's what turns the brake lights on and kicks the TCC and cruise control off when you brake. Things can act screwy though if this switch gets out of adjustment.
