TE60 vs. PT54

Is there a diffrence, or are they about the same? I was assuming that the TE60 is closer to a 44, and the PT54 closer to a 61....

Looks like the PT54 is the same as the 61 just with a precision housing

pretty sure that the 54 was update and the exhaust wheel is different, according to the chart too.

I don't remember much power difference in the end, but one person on here has gone 10.30's with a 54.. Fastest I'd see was 10.80's myself, but I think it could have been a 10.6x with a better 60ft - not my car.

I remember reading that the TA61, PT54, and TE61 were all the same, just with diffrent housings

The TA61 and TE61 are the same yes.. but the TA has a stock type compressor housing.

If you look at the chart that's posted, you can see that the 54 is only a 60mm compressor wheel and different exhaust wheel.

For what it's worth, all 3 would probably make about the same power for most users.

The 61 on that chart is a 6152. The old 61's had the same compressor as a 60, but bigger exhaust side. The 54 was the same turbo, but with a Precision housing. There is also a 60 compressor, P-trim exhaust turbo being called a 61.

I see....So the old school 61 is a 54, just with a precision housing. Makes perfect sence now....:biggrin:
