a te-60 is not going to get you "low 11's" if you can't get 11's with your present setup (which it should be capable of...)

Keep your 49 turbo and spend the $$$ on something that will give you some bang for your buck (ported heads for example)......

Better yet buy some C16 race gas and turn up your boost if you havent already , you should get there then .

The TE60 turbo is a great turbo and will go low 11s alot easier and sooner then that '49 would ever think about. IMO

I have a TE60 on my car and like is so far. I have not had a chance to jump on it hard yet as I just had my tranny redone and it's not broke in yet. A TE60 should be good for real high 10's. you need a higher stall speed convertor for a TE60 IMO. I had my stock convertor modified and the 60 spools much faster now. Hopefully I will get to the track next month.



I agree with azgn; you should be able to go 11s with your 49.

If I need a bigger converter, why is there several guys on this site running d5's with a 60 or 61 and having super results??

if you have a 9" AC, you prolly already have plenty of stall for a bigger turbo.....you will go a lot farther if you maximize your present setup...many have run mid 11's with what you have..then, consider some upgrades if you want to go faster

ok az bottom line would the 60 help me yes or no one buddies said that i could run good numbers with my stock cam and the head work is comin when i freshen up in the winter,so this would be a good upgrade true or not bottom line. The reason i wont to know is i can get this turbo at a great deal still in the box ,so let me know. thanxs randy

well, if you are getting a great deal, go for it! Of course it will be a good upgrade and your combo can handle it.......normally, it would be best to get what you got.... going......before upgrade...but you are writing the checks and it should be good for mid-low 11's if you wring it out

I think you should tune your car to it's full potential before slapping a bigger turbo on it. You have the pieces in place to run solid high 11's on those DR's & mid 11's with slicks, race gas & race chip!!!!!
