Anyone else out there using this device. I purchased one from Kirban back in 1996 and have never seen it discussed here and wanted to buy another one for my Blazer. It was called Tech-Lock and it replaces your starter solenoid and you have to turn the key in a certain sequence to get your car started. Lots of cool things you can program into it like manual locking mode, auto locking mode, delayed locking mode, valet feature and service mode where the system remains unlocked; (great for when you are at the track) Installation was easy, just replace the starter solenoid with their replacement solenoid. No other wiring needed, all the programming is done thru the key.

Tried doing a search on the internet but came up empty. The company was located in Van Nuys California.

I was a distributor for Tech-Lock and still have a few units that fit the earlier GM solenoids. Was a great product and impossible to defeat. Few drawbacks, women especially did not like its operation since it takes a few seconds. Since it was initially developed to fit the GM solenoid, the marketing was limited. The company been out of business since 1996.

A recent product I am now field testing also dis-connects the solenoid on any vehicle so it cannot be started without the proper signal. Will have more info after the SEMA show this week.

Hi Nick,

Will it fit on a 96 Chevy S-10 Blazer? If they do, I would be interested in buying one from you if it is new. Let me know. Thanks.

The question is not "will it work", but will it fit?

The GN's use a smaller solenoid in length than the earlier models. If you are able to fit a solenoid like from a '70's Buick on the starter and clear everything, these will fit.
