Temp guage install

ok usually installing this is a no brainer but i can find a spot on my intake to tap into. Do i just make a "T" with the electric sending unit or is there a place in the head where I can put this thing. Any help appreciated.

I don't know what gauge you got but my VDO sending unit went in place of my idiot light sending unit which has a one wire connector under the T-stat housing. When I took my car apart over the winter I drilled and tapped the boss next to the CTS and installed my gauge sending unit there and put the idiot light unit back in it's original location.

the guage is an autometer ultralite temp guage, it looks like i can put it in the place of the electrical sensor but then i dont want that to come on b/c it is disconnected, could i drill into the thermostat housing and put it there or is there a better spot??

As long as your talking about the one under the T-stat housing you'll be all right disconnecting it the light won't come on.
