Well, right near me there's Memphis Motorsports Park, a top notch facility. That's a hike for you though. Don't forget about Bristol way out east. :)

There is several here around Knoxville. I've lived here just south of knoxville for 10yrs now and we go to Bristol-(2hr drive) 411 speedway-(10min drive) and a racetrack along I-75, Knoxville dragway-(20mi drive) not to mention Beechbend raceway in bowling green is only 4hrs away from here. Scot w.

I'm with Scot. Plenty of tracks. Ya gotta travel an hour or two to find a quarter mile track though.
But on the other hand, 411 dragway here, just a few minutes south of Knoxville seems to be a very popular track. Granted, it's only a 1/8, but it's still fun! Still see a lot of huge $$$ mid 5 second cars out there on any given saturday.

Thats kool because my wife and kidz and me are thinking of relocating there.
how late do the tracks stay open there . thanks

Im aircraft mechanic im trying to find job right now down there .Somewhere near knoxsville i would really like to find home on a mountain.im moving from michigan i hate the snow and cold weather .any suggestions on nice area for home. Im not set on the location just needs to be near a big air port and mountains race tracks..........

Well, Knoxville had a fairly good sized airport over in Alcoa (about 15 miles SW of Knox). The Airport is co-located with the Air National Guard post.
When considering where to live (when it comes time), I can only suggest that you might not want to consider Knox county. Instead look into Blount Cty, or Sevier Cty. The airport is in Blount Cty.
The reason for the above recomendation has more to do with tax considerations and property tax considerations than anything else.
