Testing knock sensor ?

Think I can hear knock , but powerlogger only show max .5 knock retard.

Tapped on block & sensor while recording on logger, no kr shows on log.

Without a knock guage , how do we test the knock sensor ?

How hard did you hit block near the sensor?

Try it again but this time use an extention and a hammer, rest and hold the extention on the block close to the sensor and lightly tap with the hammer, If still no knock then re-set the data-logger and try again but this time a little harder if you still see nothing then look at replacing the knock sensor, Always keep in mind it is a sensor and they CAN go bad.

Gave a couple bolts on the intake a few good thuds with a 3/4" steel bar & then tapped the sensor itself with a 1/4 rod. Nothing showed on scan tool.

Should the taps record as knock retard or just knock counts ?

The sensor only has 200 miles on it & was torqued to spec.

The knock module is old though. How does one test those ?
