TH400 shifter mods... ***PICS***

I got some IM's on my recent TH400 conversion, asking about how to modify the factory shifter for the 3-speed reverse pattern.

First, you will need welding & fabrication skills.

Here's pics of the finished detent gate installed. I wish I had time to snap pics during the fabrication process, it would be alot easier to visualize how different it looks now.

But either way, this is what yours will need to look like if you want to keep the factory shifter in the car and use a reverse pattern 3-speed trans.

thanks for the pics. im in the process of removing my B&M hammer and going back to the stock shifter ..and going to copy this mod

im also running a reverse pattern 400..
