The new Mustang

My sister bought a new Mustang - the one with the V6. She took me for a ride and I was impressed. That thing is fast for a V6.

I then took her for a ride in my GN. She was impressed.

To me it feels like my GN would take it off the line. But I think the Mustang pulled harder in the upper RPMs. My GN is running stock boost levels (14-15 psi).

They are impressive, but I'd be mad if I had a 05-09 GT then they came out with a V6 with the same HP. They are really heavy and a new V6 costs what an 09 GT would.

A friend bought an 08 GT/CS new for $28K. An '10 GT/CS runs about $45K. That's crazy! Their not that much different of a car! The new HP #'s are impressive, but given the weight of all the new cars they don't seem to be getting much faster!

stock to stock, i'd say and automatic equipped V6 Mustang would win a 1/4 mile blast.. stick shift with an average driver would probably even things out. if there were any corners involved, the driver of the GN would be getting a good long look at the Mustang tail lights.

MT got a 13.7 out of one. And it gets 32 mpg on the highway.

I'd have to rent a 2010 with the V6 to see and "feel" for myself.
