pilin' them up yesterday afternoon!!
Got some snow, everyone ran for home, school kids stranded at the schools,,,,, some til this am!

One would think that some common sense would prevail....NOT! Lets all leave at the same time. For many, a 45 min commute was 6 hrs....
At my place, [60 mi east of Atl], we got MAYBE 1".:cautious:
John Wayne was right!

Problem was weather people said snow and icy was going to stay mostly south of the city...once they saw they effed up every school district on the north side said come get your kids. 4 million or so people with no snow driving experience was a massive disaster. Lol glad I live really close to work and only back roads. I got off at 230 and made it home at about 315...

Geez, I don't get excited unless they say we're getting 18 or more inches. It's funny to watch the panic over a couple of inches of snow.

I got stuck in Nashville about 3 years ago. I was down there on business and couldn't drive anywhere, total gridlock. Had to get a hotel room. The interstates were clogged until midnight - the snow came about 3pm just before rush hour. It was crazy. The next morning it was slick because they never salted but traffic was really light, haha. And it was almost gone by 3pm that afternoon.

funny watching all the southerners freak out on tv.:joyful:

we're not much better up here in MN... we get a forecast little cold, a little snow, and a little wind 3 days from now and they are cancelling schools..

And - you can easily determine who has been skating around on shitty Chinese or bad tires
They are in the ditches.

I busted a gut yesterday
A Jeep Cherokee came flying by us while we were crawling.
Then - we had to stop - no move - for about 30 minutes.
So we think - the usual gridlock in the snow.
But when we get going and up to the "scene" - wouldn't you know it?
The Jeep Cherokee on it's side in the ditch.
Just too much funny.

But the two bros - Kasim Reed says it's not his fault.
And Let's Make a Deal say not his either.
The GA DOT is the most useless and corrupt organization in this state.
Same ole completely inept government at work.
Can't even figure out a decent plan to get people off the damned highway.
If 1" of snow brings the 9th largest US city to it's knees - Think what happens in the case of true catastrophe or major event?
These useless politicians go through this hand wringing year after year.
"Completely unexpected" - but they responded properly. But we are here to save you.

Comedy Central, for sure!
I watched about 2 min of that crap.:vomit: At least the lyin lefties, [reporters] got in their face!

:(:):):)It's just stupidity at work. Seems like even up north there is always a huge pile up on some interstate. Redneck ain't got chit to do with it. I'm as country as they come and I have sense enough to drive slower in the rain and snow. We see snow down here every decade or so. And idiots still fly and eat ditch!

Pure lack of planning. The bad weather was predicted 3 days out. Should have at least told people to stay off the roads until safe. Schools should have been closed and business let out in stages.

Actually the worst accumulation was predicted for 150 miles to the south

Not to mention mouth breathing, dopey eyed "Colonel" (cough cough - eye roll - duck snort) - Charley English - wearing his tactical GEMA jacket - (insert belly laugh) and looking confused as always.
This is the same guy moron who has been around these f'd up chaotic events for the last 20 years.
Still not a clue. He sent most of his people home early.
How much pension is that fk'er going to retire with next month?
Many many millions of our tax dollars are going down a rat hole in the name of "terrorism" - the "homeland securtiy" scam - and the "first responder" heart string tug
GEMA is worse than GDOT.
Nothing but a patronage jobs dumping ground
And a damned good one if you're lucky enough to get one of them.
What is going to happen when aliens really do invade Georgia?
Not the brown skinned ones - I mean the green skinned ones?
These guys are going to be like the captain of the Italian cruise liner Concordia.
In a life boat before any of the passengers.
The voters in this state need to wake up and get a clue. They only pull "R" or "D" without any regard to the consequences.
Saxby Chambliss - I'm looking at you and your silk socks.

Oh - next time they are going to get it right.
(Flashbacks to 2011; 2002, et al)
But I'm sure they will need just a few more sheckles of our tax dollars to be sure this time
So they can buy more fancy tactical jackets and 4 wheel drive vehicles to get to news conferences on time.

Oh hell
APS has the former Chancellor of the University of Georgia system - one Errol Davis - who took over after the massive APS cheating scandal - another highly paid "insider" - who couldn't even get his a$$ out of his hand to call one snow day.
Why you ask?
They would lose precious federal funding and the 90% of the kids from brood mare mothers would not get (free) lunch - and the day care they call Atlanta Public ..ahem..."school".
So they decided to stay until 12:30 when it didn't count as an official "snow / off day'
These people are pathetic.
The politics behind these kinds of events will curl your hair.
A sane person would simply not believe it.

And then we have the Mayor of Atlanta - who I prefer to refer to as "Stephen" (Ref: Django Unchained) who is only - and I mean only - interested in his next job.
He saw BHO do it - and he thinks he can too.
Cept - he ain't as smart as BHO.
He thinks that since Howard University starts with an "H" - it's the same as "Harvard"
Sounds the same right?......Howard...Harvard...??.....Ain't.
He actually makes Andrew Young look like a decent person, and we could almost wish for former Atlanta mayor Bill Campbell to get released from federal prison to at least give some contracts out via kickbacks to get the city working.

And Nathan "Let's Make A" Deal
I haven't even started with that Hall County retard.
But if you've ever dated a girl from Hall County - you know how easy they are.
That's Nathan Deal.
Dumb as a stump - fun for a minute - But she wears a suit.
He makes Sonny Purdue look like Bill Gates.
He was probably pissed that God Almighty did not offer to make a campaign donation if Nathan Deal and his cronies would then attend to the roads.

That my friends is Georgia politics and the so called leaders we have in this bifurcated hell hole of metro Atlanta.
You've got the blacks mismanaging Atlanta proper, and the whites mismanaging everything else.
In fact - it is just like Django Unchained - You've got Stephen (Played by Kasim Reed) managing the house and those idiot slaves, - and Calvin Candie (Played by Nathan Deal) managing the rest of the plantation and those idiot mouth breathing rednecks.

Which by the way - reminds me a lot of the next coming - the guy they call Christie.
You've been warned.
Just vote for Rand Paul.
He doesn't give a F about the status quo

But we have alot of drivers who commit crimes such as DWA, DWM, and DWB.
With snow covered windows, a small viewing porthole scraped out from a window, while talking on their cell phones.
Or the ladder vans that I'm sure just had to be out that day since someone needed new siding installed by a group of hard working, recently arrived "undocumented immigrants"...(saracstic cough inserted for effect)
Most driving on bald a$$ed tires.
Not the DWA's - they drive new cars - usually either a Toyota MinVan or shitty Acura - but are just clueless. They look like petrified beavers driving their cars at 5 mph in the whatever.

Except Sam Champion of The Weather Channel.
He wanted to get on his knees.
(gag)
Oh - I forgot.
He has a boyfriend.
I mean - a "partner"
Excuse me while I go throw up.

The bad weather was predicted 150 miles to the south.

THE NWS issued a WINTER STORM WARNING for the entire metro area at 3 AM the day before
They can play games with latitude degrees all they want - it was a known fact that we were due.
I walked out that morning and could tell the ice and snow was only hours away.
It was cold as shit - and it was fixing to rain / sleet / snow.

And besides - any other day - they call these forecasts as if they are gospel.
All of a sudden - its such a hit or miss proposition.
When it's convenient.

I would say the school closure map is a little off. The only way 6" is going to close our school is if there is some serious cold and drifting. We got 10.5" last night and they haven't closed any of the schools in the county. We are forecasted to get another 5-8 Tuesday night.

When we lived in Va. Beach they got under two inches and shut down the city. The south doesn't prepare for the weather that they rarely get. If they did tax payers would be po'd because it would be a waste of money. I doubt there are very many plow blades in the Atlanta area. I think they have the worlds largest stockpile of orange barrels (they store them on the highways there just to piss me off cause I never see any road work going on just barrels) but no snow plow equipment.
