so i take the Buick out for a Sat afternoon cruise a few weeks back and decide to top off the tank. i pull into Sunoco for some 94 octane, put in about 5 gallons, screw the gas cap on, and fire it up... but no sooner do i put it in drive and try to leave the station that the car suddenly is hesitating throughout the rpm ranges. i baby it home, park it in the garage, and decide to figure it out later

so here we are today. i pull the GN out, hook up a fuel pressure gauge, and take it for a quick drive around the neighborhood. fuel pressure at idle was around 36lbs, and it was about 42lbs with the vac hose disconnected. while in drive and idling down the street it was barely 30lbs, and as i gave it a little gas and it barely got into boost, pressure only rose to the mid - high 30s

im thinking the pump has gone south... anyone else?

Certainly could be a bad pump but I would also suspect a plugged filter, collapsed sock, a plugged vent, a defective FPR, or bad electical connector.

filter is brand new, as is the Accufab AFPR. both were installed about 2 months ago and the car ran great until i filled it up w gas. then poof... runs like crap

ive got a brand new SyTy fuel pump and a Poston hotwire kit that i was planning on installing later... but it looks like now is the time
