Err,..... I bought my car just a few weeks ago. 33K miles since I drove it home,... N.J. to Denver.

The paint on this car sux ass. Is it normal??? Really now,... to have these spider web looking cracks all over the rear spoiler etc??? And small white blemishes UNDER the paint. WTF OVER?!?!?!?

Yes,... I'm saving for a paint job. I just cannot fathom how these cars went out the door with such ****ty pant jobs. Even though it's been,...what,...13 years,... the ONLY thing bad on the car I bought was the paint.

BTW,.... :) I love the car... It's the new baby and the other two are now jealous,.... (maybe I just feel this because I neglect them now)

 I have ZERO clue as to what new paint (as far as the dif. between a good and a GOOOD JOB costs,..) costs,.... can I have the car looking good for 1-2K ???
I feel like an ass asking this question because I know it's possible to spend 10+ on paint,.... I just want the frickin white spots under the clearcoat and the spiders gone.

The cracks are normal, welcome to Laquer paint...(it's also why it's rarely used anymore, it's actually outlawed here).

Yeah the factory paint was crap.

PPG, House of Color, Sikkens are some of the best paint makers out there.

You get what you pay for. One of the best ways to find out the real good places to get your car painted is, hit up the car shows/events and ask the folks with the awesome paintjobs they will know.

Thanx for the info,...tips. Time to start saving I guess. :(

I'ts probably gonna take me a while,....need to spend money on a few performance upgrades first. :)

I have been told that the paint job I got was very good.
It took 6 weeks and all the top surfaces were stripped
to metal. The car was very straight and zero rust to
start with. It was $3800 three years ago. The car still
looks great. You definitly have to pay good $$ for a
good paint job. Get several references from people
who are happy with the work they have.

good luck.
