What does the detent solenoid do, it seems to be the only electronic part in the THM400 besides a pressure switch.
I want to put the trans in my 85 lesabre and need to Know
how to hook up the detent solenoid.
The trans is out of a 74 TA with a pontiac 400 if that matters.

The detent solenoid causes a forced 3-2 or 3-1 downshift; ie. passing gear. Stock, it is activated via a switch on the gas pedal.
