well i have did
tranny work-- shift hard ;)
inj , chips and evc -- pulls hard :D
turbo and headers --- wow boost feels good
intercooler -- i feel a little change :p

did bear brakes 13" track -- HOLY SHI* this thing stop

of all the upgrades i have done the bear brakes is the best one... i can say its worth every cent ..
i wonder how those cars feel with the front and rears ( wow)

the only thing i did not like about it is that you dont use 100% of the rotor

but trust me this thing stops
:D

I'm waiting on mine right now. I ordered the 13" Track kit with drilled, slotted and zinc washed rotors. I also got them with red calipers. A friend of mine has the front and rear set up and he said he wouldn't do it again. He said the rears were nothing but a pain in the butt. It looks pretty though!

wow, you've almost got me convinced:) how much for a pair of those, and how much would it cost for the rear conversion after all the work is done?

Come on guys, go for the 2 piece rotors!

These are for my '69 Chevelle which is getting the pro-touring treatment... 13" front / 12" rear, 2 piece slotted/zinc washed/crossdrilled rotors all around. The crossdrilling is a "frilly cosmetic item" but for an additional $10 a rotor it was too good to pass up. :p

I still don't have the fronts on my car... been waiting 4.5 months now for Global West to get my tubular lower front a-arms to me.

Can't wait to get all the suspension and brakes on... if they stop half as good as they look, it should be quite an improvement :D

I have more pics of the Baer's HERE for you guys that are thinking about purchasing them. orion, the pics should convince you to part with some money. Hehehehe...

Before anyone asks, yes the entire setup did drain the wallet, to the tune of 3 big ones

But you can save $540 on the set of 4 by getting 1-piece rotors, and save a few more bucks if you don't do the zinc washing and crossdrilling.

ONLYA6: I have the rears installed, and they work great! What problems was your friend having with his? I admit the install was a pain (had to machine my axles to clear the hats for the rotors, I realized this after I had everything back together... ugh) but they work great.

What size and type of rims are you using with the 13" kits?

They fit with the 16" GNX style?

How about just using the bigger S-10 cylinders and double long drum shoes out back, think that will be a more even match?

Any feedback is welcome, my GN will have real brakes on it by next year. :)

My TTA uses PBR calipers (same as the Baer Track system I have) and 12" rotors, and with the TTA wheels (close to a GN I believe) I don't think you could stuff a 13" rotor in there without the caliper hitting the wheel.

I'm running 17" Torq-Thrust II Classics on my Chevelle, and they have about .350" of clearance at the tightest spot to the caliper with the Baers. Baer says that most 17" wheels will fit the 13" Track systems, and only some 16"... they have a template on their website you can download and print (or they'll mail them to you) so you can check if you'll have enough clearance with your wheels.

I didn't buy the wheels yet so I guess I could go 17" if I had to.

They suck at the track however. Traction is just as important as braking and looks. ;)

My luck they won't fit, but maybe the 12" setup will work fine for my needs.

Any info. is appreciated and yes I will contact Rick Elam before I make any real decisions.

Still saving the $$$.

BAER specifically says the 13" brakes will not fit GTA 16" wheels.

Gotcha thought I remembered that in a thread.

I don't think I'm getting the wheels anyway.

Time to go shopping for 17" wheels and tires.

Anyone know what size Drag Radials fit the rear on what width rim? 17" that is. :)

I upgraded both front and rear with 12in disks and it does stop on a dime. But if I had to do it over, I would probably stay with the drums on the rear. The problem is at the track, can't hold much boost 4-5psi and it pushes through the lights. I suppose a transbrake may be solution. Anyone else have this problem ?

I'm running Nitto 275/40/17 Drag Radials on a 17x8 Boyd Coddington wheel. That's with factory backspacing too. My car is also lowered with an Eibach Pro-Kit and HAL shocks.
