What stall converter are you running, and can you from a dead stop smoke the tires? (no brake standing)
Thanks

With a 2800 stall D5, it rips the 275/60 (28" tall) as soon as the boost goes past 14-15psi when I floor it from idle.

I love this turbo.

NO. TR's from a dead stop won't do that. Unelss its was a V8:eek:

Mine barks em off idle and then lite up at about 15-16psi for a while. It takes a little practice but when I here that bark in the begining,I know I did my best.:D There is a trick!

Let me clearify that I don't reach that boost level till maybe 3/4 of the way threw 1st gear (from idle). So technicly, no, you will never spin them right away no matter what turbo you have.

Ran a stock D5 and smoked 'em hard for a very long time from a stand still with no power brake. 5 psi launch at the track netted full boost (24 psi) before mph read past zero leaving the line.

ATR 12" 2800 lockup but can only smoke when the car does its 1-2 shift.:D That's only cause I got 295-50-15 on the car:eek:

So with a 44 turbo, ATR 3" DP & wastegate, 50# delphi's, 3" exhaust, pit bull chip, extreme 9/11 2800 stall converter, ATR cold air, gutted cat, and tuned with turbo-link on 215x65x15 tires on stock rims I should'nt be able to smoke them from a dead stop?
I am just curious, do i have a problem here?

Me !!

Id love to do that..when I wanna win ill bolt the ole slicks on..I would like to be able to have the power to hit it from a dead stop instead of being a terd until it hits boost..I can take off from a stop sign(4=way intersection) by time my back wheels are fully across the road to other sign I will be burning them..about halfway through 1st gear..51 turbo & stock converter

I have a 44 in a few cars with the stock converter....doesnt lite the tires up ...BUT I want it to go NOT put on a show:p

I had my Gn out one friday nite on woodman drive.came off a lite next to a mustang.I had some kinda micky thompson tires on it at the time.anyhow about 35 mph he nails it so Im goin about 40 and nail it beside him.next thing I know Im looking right in his door.the car just flat smoked em and went 90 degrees WOW. next day put those tires up for sale and bought drag radials .its more fun hooking up I went a 1.61 short time on those things

i have a te44 turbo with 50's and from a dead stop with no boost built up and i punch it...the tires will spin when i shift from 1-2 and the car will go sideways...then i hook and shoot off.....

it is a dog when i do that until right when i shift from 1-2...when you build boost at the line now that is a different story:eek: car will go sideways and spin them until like 3 rd gear;)
