im trying to replace my t-top weather strips and my weatherstrip on the roof area is not the same as what i ordered and it came from kirbans so what the hell!
is my t-tops aftermarket or something,i havent come across with one like mine. i cant post atachments but i have a few pics to share what my car has. can someone shed some light on this.
thanks.

I bought mine from Poston's and they were GM OEM seals
They fit perfect.
Are the Kirban's OEM? If not that might be your problem.

WHERE CAN I GET THE CORRECT WEATHERSTRIPS?
Good luck! chances are slim but you would have to find out the manuf of them. reason being any shop could of used there certian supplier to buy them from and install them. so the only way to get the correct seals would be to somehow find out who made them. sorry to hear this. Scot w.

If you got them from Kirban's then chances are you got the anti-rattle strips they sell. They are not the correct strips. They are larger and are used to try to cut down on some of the rattling the tops make. They say this in their ad. I think these are GM pieces, just not GN pieces. Have you installed these yet? I may buy them from you if you haven't. I assume you are referring to the long ones that run 3/4 of the way around each of the tops. If you can post pics it would help alot. Hope this helped.

Hahahahaaa!! Hey man, it's Jason...the guy that bought your car. I found a set in Pennsylvania, last set in the US most likely.

right on man! i had those oem cut and fit in the mean time.
have you done any mods yet?
dude after you took the car i had like 2 more calls from guys ready to cash out!! including that guy i told you about that wanted it for his son.
you gotta send me some pics later on after you do some mods or add some nice wheels to it.

I haven't done anything yet except fix the little problems with it. I am redoing the gauges you put in, it needed a new EGR and a few vacuum lines, and of course the new seals are in the mail.

I scored an original set from a GM dealer a few years back. Cost me $400 for the set. I finally pulled of the old set off last weekend. One side was clean as could be under the weatherstrip but the other side had some bad rust. The side that had rust had some kind of black putty like substance that was used to fill the gaps at the corners. Anyone else every see this material used or was this what caused the leaking? Not sure if I'll need it when I install the new weatherstrip. Next questions. Has anyone ever removed and replaced the inner front weather strip "retainer". Mine one side is a bit rusted and while I do have a replacement, this damn thing is welded onto the roof.

I bought this car new in 1987 and wish I had never bought the one with T-Tops :frown:
