How many of you run the Thrasher 100 or 108 with their SMC alky kit? With a stock turbo and stock injectors witch one would probably work best? I also understand the car will run richer using alky. With a Thrasher chip the fuel pressure is suppose to be set at 45psi, so how do you tune for this? Just ordered the SMC kit and can't wait!!!!! Thanks, R.B.

Unless your car is really knock free (very well tuned) I think the 100 is the way to go. Some of us had problems (very funny readings, but I cannot remember what they were) using the alky & the Thrashers, others have had no problems.

I run the Thrasher 92 in mine. Both when I had stock injectors and the 50's. I backed the fuel pressure down to 42-43psi and use the alcohol as added fuel. The block learns are near 128 in all cells except cell 15 where it tries to add fuel. I run 100% denatured alcohol with a pump speed of 8. I get 0 knock, which is what I tune for. My O2s are around 750-770 in 3rd gear. 800ish in 1st and 2nd gear.

Just don't go crazy with the boost at first. It took a long time to get mine dialed in.

Now its time to hit the track and see if I can get some ET with my MPH I've been running. New trans and a 9/11 converter sure do make for some fun street driving :D

With the Thrasher 108 you may get a lot of transitional knock (knock on the shifts, when you step on it, etc). I have tried the Thrasher 108 and 100 and like the 100 better. The only knock you have to tune for is top end 3rd gear knock

I tried a Thrasher 92 with my old stock combo in my GN and it just didn't run well. Only ran it for a day or so and got rid of it.

A few weeks ago I installed my PT51 and Blue Tops which came with two chips, one of which was a Thrasher 108. I had tuned it with the 93 chip to about 22-23 psi boost and it was running well. I just installed the 108 a few days ago not expecting much and DAMN! I turned the boost down a couple since it had more timing and the car felt awesome even with the lowered boost! Spool up is pretty good and I had read that I'd hate the 51 with a stock converter! I'm now back up to about 22 psi with just a little alky tweaking and I really like it! I don't see any transitional knock but I haven't noticed any since my Power Plate install. ;)Gonna try to tune (slowly) for about 23-24 psi and see how it goes.

BTW, what is the timing* on the 108? I bought everything used so I have no info on it. Thanks!

I have the PT51 with 50# injectors and the stock converter was brutal with this setup. I went from doing 1.6-1.7 short times to doing 2.0-2.1 short times. Talk about disappointing :( I was slower to the 1/8 than the stock setup. But could run 5-8mph faster at the big end.

Maybe its because I have 3.27 gears and couldn't pull up the rpm?

Did all TTA's have 3.27's?

Jay I liked the way the 108 pulled up high but I would get a little knock if I tromped on it and didnt have race gas.
I asked the same question about the timing, but no one could say for sure. General consensus was around 28*
The Thrasher 100 I am running now has around 26* I think and it pulls just as well as my 108. HUGE difference over the RA93;)

Anyone running alky on a street chip is really missing the boat:cool:

That's the problem I'm having. I can only run street chips because of the low timing. My car has never liked timing either stock or modified. I just can't get it to stop the KR from coming on. So I just play it safe and run low timing and more boost, seems to work. With the new converter, spool up is very fast. Just like the stock setup was.
