Thrasher chip for '85

I purchased a Thrasher chip with theft deterrent feature from Scott Simpson and use it on my daily driver 85 GN which has been converted to 87 ignition module and ECM.
It works fine.

Peter, do you have a intercooler on your car?
The Thrasher website says that their chips will work on 84-85 cars with ECM conversion and intercooler. Why the intercooler?
Been wanting to try one of their chips for a while, anyone using one with out an intercooler?
Thanks.

Yes, you can use it without having an intercooler...Instead of running the fuel pressure at Thrasher's recommended 45#, back the fuel pressure off to about 38-39# and check the scan tool numbers for the BLM's and INT's and then adjust the fuel pressure accordingly to bring the number's in line...The 38-39# should get you real close...

You can also use any 86/7 chip, and run a lower fuel pressure than what they call for the 86/7s...The 86/7s need more fuel than the 84/5s because with the IC, they get a more dense, cooler air charge in the cylinders, which requires more fuel...

Thrasher chip for 85 w/o intercooler

I have no intercooler on my car its almost stock '85 GN.
The fuel pressure is roughly 38 pounds. It works fine for me.

Hmm..

The latest Hot Air Recipe indicates that more fuel is required for the hot air than the intercooled GNs. If the incoming fuel/air charge is cooled with additional enrichment (like my RX-7 rotary) than it makes sense that additional fuel is a benefit.
